Is Tagaytay worth visiting? Yes. Tagaytay is definitely worth visiting. It is a great destination for a quick escape from the city. The stunning views of Taal Volcano make it perfect for those who want to relax. Its cool weather offers a refreshing break from Manila’s heat. If you’re feeling adventurous, there are plenty of outdoor activities to enjoy during your Tagaytay getaway.
But that’s not all – Tagaytay is also famous for its Bulalo. This savory soup is perfect for Tagaytay’s cold weather.
Let me share our unforgettable Tagaytay getaway experience with you.
How to commute to Tagaytay?
Traveling from Manila to Tagaytay can take 2-3 hours. The travel duration may vary based on the traffic conditions. You can ride a bus from the terminal in Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange (PITX). It’s a cheaper way to reach Tagaytay from Manila directly.
Where to stay in Tagaytay?
There are plenty of hotels and Airbnbs where you can stay in Tagaytay. One of these options is SMDC Wind Residences, where we stayed. The location is within walking distance from the highway where we get off the bus.
We spent two days and one night in Tagaytay. Luckily, I got the chance to reserve accommodation with a balcony.
It had a breathtaking view of Taal Volcano, especially during sunrise. It was relaxing and perfect for capturing Instagram-worthy photos while admiring Taal Lake. The sunrise view here is impressive. This spot is perfect for enjoying the sunrise while sipping a hot coffee overlooking the Taal Volcano.
Everything was free except for the swimming pool. But that was okay. We didn’t plan to swim because of the windy, cold weather. Kitchen tools and utensils are free to use so that you can cook your meals.
Where to go in Tagaytay?
Taal Volcano
Taal Volcano is renowned for being the smallest active Volcano in the world. It is a natural wonder and one of the top tourist attractions in the Philippines.
The stunning views of the lake and Taal Volcano are seriously breathtaking. If you’re feeling adventurous, you can hike up that Volcano or go horseback riding nearby. You can also avail a boat tour to explore the lake up close.
Sky Ranch
You must add Sky Ranch to your bucket list! It is one of the famous theme parks in the Philippines. Many people visit this place for its panoramic view. You can see the City, Taal Lake, and Volcano from there. The entrance fee is 100 pesos. You can also purchase a ride-all-you-can pass on Klook.
The best time to visit is on weekdays since it’s not very crowded and not so many people queue for each ride. Also, I recommend wearing comfortable clothes and footwear. Remember to wear a jacket if you are sensitive to cold, as the wind blows are freezing.
My favorite ride here is the Sky Eye. You can enjoy the fantastic beauty of the Taal volcano. So make sure to try it, and you can buy pasalubongs here.
Crosswinds Tagaytay
The first thing you’ll notice is how relaxing this place feels. There are pine trees all around that add to the vibe.
I remember a funny experience we had during our visit to Crosswinds. We planned to see the beautiful view of the place, which has lovely lights that are perfect for taking Instagram photos. So, we decided to go there after visiting Sky Ranch.
We took a jeepney, and only five passengers were left, including us and a lady. She asked if we were going to Crosswinds and advised us that it would be difficult to catch a jeepney after 7 pm (or 8 pm, if I recall correctly). We quickly took some photos for about 5 minutes and then rushed back. We were catching our breath as we returned to the highway and waited for a jeepney. We even had to run to catch one! Hahaha.
It was one of our most unforgettable experiences during our Tagaytay getaway.
Where to eat in Tagaytay?
Sol Victoria’s Tagaytay
Sol Victoria’s Tagaytay is located near SMDC Wind Residences, where we stayed. Since it was too early to check in at our hotel, we decided to find a place to eat. We were already craving Bulalo, and we found Sol Victoria’s restaurant. They have a beautiful spot where you can enjoy the view of Taal Volcano.
Mahogany Beef Market
We decided to have lunch at Mahogany Beef Market before returning to Manila. It would be best if you stopped by here as they are famous for serving delicious Bulalo. Although many people waited in line when we arrived, the wait time was quick. They also offer other delicious Filipino dishes that you should try.
This Tagaytay staycation was unforgettable, with its picturesque views and great food. Plus, the funny experiences make lasting memories.
